Eight O’Clock’ Coffee is an American business and product success story. Starting in 1859 as the private label store brand coffee on which A&P Grocery Stores was built, the company is today the nation’s leading brand of packaged whole bean coffee. In June 2006, the company was purchased by Tata Coffee, Ltd., based in India. Gryphon realized 3x of its original investment and an IRR of 60%.
