Gryphon Junior Capital Makes Second Lien Investment in AWP Safety

Gryphon Investors (“Gryphon”), a leading middle-market private investment firm, announced today that its Junior Capital Fund has made a second lien investment in AWP Safety (“AWP” or the “Company”), a provider of comprehensive traffic management services.  Additional terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 1993 and headquartered in North Canton, OH, AWP is one of North America’s leading traffic control company. AWP delivers comprehensive traffic management services, supporting utility, broadband, and transportation infrastructure work in communities across the U.S.  AWP specializes in supplying the manpower to guide traffic safety around work zones. The Company also provides consultation and traffic design services, as well as traffic control equipment.  AWP is majority-owned by Kohlberg & Company, a leading private equity firm based in Mount Kisco, NY.
