John Schumacher
Partner & Co-Head of Junior Capital Fund
John joined Gryphon in 2021 and is Co-Head of Gryphon’s Junior Capital Fund. In his role, John provides co-oversight to the Junior Capital Fund team and assists in sourcing, analyzing, executing, monitoring and exiting Gryphon Junior Capital Fund investments.
Prior to joining Gryphon, John was the Co-Founder and Chairman of GoldPoint Partners LLC, where he presided over $7.4 billion invested in 351 direct deals and more than $15 billion in fund commitments. In addition, from 2010 through 2020, John operated as GoldPoint’s Chairman after having served as the company’s CEO from its formation in 1999 through 2009. While at GoldPoint, assets under his management grew from $1.5 billion to over $13.6 billion. Prior to co-founding GoldPoint, John was the Head of the Private Finance Group at New York Life.
