Paul Margolis
Executive Advisor, Software Group
Paul joined Gryphon in 2019 and works closely with the Software Group and the management teams of its portfolio companies to maximize short and long-term operating and financial performance through strategic, commercial and operational improvements. He also assists Gryphon deal teams in identifying, evaluating and executing investments. Current Gryphon portfolio company board appointments include Meazure Learning, Ncontracts and Rootstock. Paul previously served on the board of Gryphon portfolio company FieldRoutes.
Paul has a passion for building software companies. He has spent his career as CEO, operating executive, board member, advisor and investor building his knowledge and experience in how to build value. Paul continually works to grow his knowledge of best practices in all functional areas including sales, marketing, product, engineering and finance.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
- Private Equity Operating Advisor and Investor – Led and participated in 12 private equity investments in software companies. Member of boards of Directors and advisor to management teams. Chairman of the boards of four software companies.
- Longworth Venture Partners, Founding Partner – Led this venture capital firm investing in software companies. Raised multiple funds, invested in 52 software companies, member of boards of Directors of 14 companies.
- Marcam Corporation, Founder and CEO – Led company from founding through successful IPO, achieving over $200 million in revenue and 1,200 employees globally.

My first job after business school was as the manager of an electronics assembly factory. On my first day on the job, I had 104 hourly workers and 12 salaried workers in my organization.
