Operating Partner, Heritage Group & Co-Head of Operations Resources Group

Steve joined Gryphon in 2024 and is an Operating Partner for the Gryphon Heritage Group and Co-Head of Gryphon’s Operations Resources Group. He is also a member of the Gryphon Management Committee and the Flagship Heritage Management Committee. As Co-Head of the Operations Resources Group, Steve works closely with the Operations Resources Group functional leaders and Operating Partners to optimize value across Gryphon’s portfolio of companies. For the Heritage Group, Steve works closely with the management teams of the group’s portfolio companies to maximize short and long–term operating and financial performance. He also assists Gryphon deal teams in identifying, evaluating, and executing investments that algin with Gryphon’s investment priorities. Steve currently serves on the board of Gryphon portfolio company Double Wood Supplements.

Steve has over 35 years of experience in delivering sustained value creation in the Consumer Packaged Goods space to include a broad range of categories (food, automotive, laundry, home care, pet care, insecticides, feminine hygiene, and paper products) and businesses including branded, private label, foodservice and contract manufacturing.  

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • SK Food Group, President & CEO – Led largest North American specialty sandwich and wrap manufacturer, which achieved double-digit revenue and EBITDA growth through strengthening go-to-market execution, automating production, expanding capacity and completing two acquisitions.
  • AdvancePierre Foods, President of the Retail Division – Partnered with Executive Team to professionalize value-added protein and handheld convenience business and complete a successful IPO and later sale to Tyson.
  • ConAgra Foods, SVP, Customer Development – Began career in Business Development and moved up the ranks through Brand Management before becoming SVP, Customer Development. Responsibilities spanned $12 billion of branded and private label revenues.
  • Armor All Products Company, VP, Sales, North America – Led improvement of go-to-market model of largest manufacturer of Automotive Appearance Chemicals in the U.S., which resulted in sale of company to Clorox.
