Wes is a Partner and joined Gryphon in 2017 to co-lead the firm’s Industrial Growth Team. He works closely with senior management teams at Gryphon portfolio companies to maximize short- and long-term operating and financial performance through strategic, commercial, and operational improvements. He is also a member of the investment review committee and assists Gryphon deal teams in identifying, evaluating, and executing investments. Current board appointments at Gryphon portfolio companies include Pacur, Potter Electric Signal, Techmer PM, Transportation Insight, and Vessco Water; previous board appointments at Gryphon portfolio companies include Washing Systems Inc.
Wes is an accomplished executive with about 30 years of experience in both the C-suites of global Fortune 500 corporations and high growth private companies. In addition to his responsibilities at Gryphon, Wes is involved in the community and charities, such as sitting on the board at Pepperdine University and an Elder in the Presbyterian Church, and was a member of the Business Roundtable and United States Chamber of Commerce.
Prior to Gryphon, Wes’s experience included:- SIRVA– President, CEO, and member of the Board, for the world’s largest relocation and moving company with about 1,500 locations in 170 countries
- BioMass Capital– Co-Founder and CEO for this technology start-up in renewable, clean energy based on biomass for electrical utilities
- Quebecor World– President, CEO, and member of the Board, for this publicly traded, 2nd largest printer in the world
- Sun Chemical– President, CEO, and Chairman of the Board, for the world’s largest specialty chemical company in pigments and inks with about $4 billion in sales
- Kodak Polychrome – Co-Chairman, for the world’s largest printing media company
- OpenWebs– Co-Founder and CEO, for this software start-up in peer-to-peer, network trading solutions
- NOVA Chemicals– President, Styrenics & Corporate EVP, for this spin-off plastics company that was IPO’d in 1997 and became the world’s 2nd largest stryenics player
- AlliedSignal– Vice President at this Fortune 500 company with leadership roles in strategy, M&A, and growth initiatives
- McKinsey & Company– Consultant based in Europe with a focus on growth, strategy, and operational improvement
