Nicholas Orum

Nick co-founded Gryphon Investors in 1995 and serves as Gryphon’s Co-Chief Executive Officer, Chief Investment Officer and a member of the Gryphon Management Committee. He shares oversight and management of Gryphon’s overall business and investment activities. Nick previously served as Gryphon President from 2009 to 2023 as well as Head of Gryphon’s Healthcare Group, Software Group and Business Services Group at various points. While at Gryphon, he has been responsible for leading or co-leading investments in over 20 platform companies and leading or overseeing over 50 add-on acquisitions. Current Gryphon portfolio company board appointments include AQUA Dermatology, Learn Behavioral, Meazure Learning and Ncontracts. Nick is also a former Chairman or Director of AlliedBarton Security, CORA Health Services, Consolidated Fire Protection, DLC, Delta Education, ECG Management Consultants, FieldRoutes, Flagstone Foods, Miller Heiman, NurseFinders, Ob Hospitalist Group, Smile Brands, Staffing Now, SynteractHCR, Trinity Consultants, TrustHouse Services and Update Legal.

Prior to Gryphon, Nick was a Principal Investor at Oak Hill Partners, where he was responsible for sourcing, analyzing, executing, and monitoring private equity investments, working closely with David Andrews. Before joining Oak Hill, Nick was a member of Merrill Lynch’s High Yield Finance Group, where he was involved in financing for various leveraged acquisitions and corporate clients.
